Bringing the Girl Scout experience to girls in the NYC Shelter System

Troop 6000 is a Girl Scout troop specially designed to serve girls in the New York City Shelter System. In addition to building girls of courage, confidence, and character, Girl Scouting has the potential to provide girls living in the New York City Shelter System, more:

  • Girl Scouting means consistency – a weekly meeting where girls know they'll learn, try new things, and have fun.

  • Girl Scouting means community – a network of girls and supportive adults who, even if they’ve never met before, are part of the same club.

YWCA

YWCA offers after-school and summer programs that allow girls to explore science, math, and art, be inspired by female role models, discuss social justice, learn how to speak out, and make their dreams a reality.  more
